SAE and NASA Host Symposium

Benjamin Perlin is an active volunteer in his community, serving groups such as the Tennessee State Veterans’ Homes and Second Harvest Food Bank. Apart from his volunteer work, Benjamin (Ben) Perlin belongs to the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) International.

SAE International recently joined forces with the NASA Aeronautics Research Institute (NARI) for the “Autonomy and the Next Generation Flight Deck Symposium” held in Mountain View, California. The event was an opportunity for key contributors to the aerospace field to gather and learn about the newest innovations and best industry practices.

Among the topics discussed were future advances in artificial intelligence and spacecraft technology. SAE events group director Jim Forlenza expressed excitement at the opportunity to join NASA in hosting the event. Forlenza believes that many of the topics discussed will go on to shape the next wave of innovation in the aerospace industry.
